Join the IFAI for a March 7th a webinar with Mr. Ben Mead of the International OEKO-TEX Association, the world’s oldest and foremost leader in textile chemical compliance. Mr. Mead will review what, exactly, “compliance” means in a global industry and give an overview of the complexities the industry faces as companies strive to meet various regulations enforced by different countries or geographic regions. Mr. Mead will use the example of the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX as a case study for how industrial fabrics companies are meeting global compliance requirements in an efficient and effective manner.

Mr. Ben Mead is the Managing Director for Hohenstein Institute Americas. In this role Ben has OEKO-TEX responsibilities for the United States and promotes Hohenstein’s expertise as a globally recognized leader in textile research and testing. He also serves as the company’s liaison with governmental agencies, industry collaborations, and trade associations. He previously consulted with a variety of brands and industry associations including Textile Exchange and AFIRM. Ben started his career working for Nike where he helped develop a restricted substances program and was also involved in implementation of both sustainable materials and water programs. Ben has degrees in Chemistry and Textile Chemistry from North Carolina State University.
