Cars and transport
For car manufacturers, the operators of public transport systems such as buses and trains and airlines, the Hohenstein Institute offers independent quality testing to assess and optimise textile materials. You can rely on our many years of experience and technical expertise, especially in relation to car seats optimised for comfort characteristics. Our institute has special test and measuring equipment for calculating the comfort of the seat depending on the materials that are used and where it is to be located. This means that we are able to develop designs for seat covers and upholstery that are specifically designed for your intended purpose. We can also test the resistance to mould of vehicle fittings.
With the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, we also offer a valuable certification system for all-round testing of vehicle interiors for undesirable harmful substances. This can be supplemented, for example, by our odour analysis, with the help of which the smell of different materials can be compared and quantified. Checking the light-resistance of textiles, along with other tests such as calculating the resistance to abrasion and the pilling behaviour, gives you information about the performance and longevity of textile materials and therefore a reliable aid in decision-making when buying appropriate products for the interior of your vehicles.
