Corporate Governance

Effective governance at Hohenstein is rooted in a shared vision and collaborative decision-making across departments. Regular management meetings bring together diverse teams—from finance and HR to technical services—to ensure alignment on strategic goals and sustainable business practices.

A respectful, purpose-driven culture supports high performance. Autonomy, expertise and relevance are the pillars of our work environment, with managers actively involved and employees valued for their contributions.

Ethics & Compliance

Integrity is a non-negotiable standard. Our global Code of Conduct and compliance program outlines clear, enforceable standards for social responsibility, legality, integrity, accuracy, confidentiality, fairness, independence, anti-corruption and quality. We are committed to upholding these principles in everything we do.

To ensure accountability, we offer a secure and anonymous whistleblower system—the Hohenstein Compliance Line. This allows employees and external stakeholders to report potential violations, while protecting their identity and ensuring fair follow-up. Our Compliance Officer oversees investigations and any corrective actions.

Sustainability, climate action and environmental responsibility are embedded into all core processes, across every level of the organization. A dedicated ESG team reports directly to senior leadership for regular and efficient communication.

Social Responsibility

Our approach to social sustainability is rooted in being a fair and supportive employer. We invest in our employees through ongoing training, professional development and open communication to foster a positive, inclusive workplace.

Flexible work options—including part-time roles and hybrid schedules—help employees balance work and personal life. According to our biennial employee survey, 85% report being satisfied or very satisfied with Hohenstein as an employer. We’ve already implemented many of the improvements suggested by our team—and continue to build on this momentum to maintain a strong, people-centered culture.

Environment

Environmental and Climate Responsibility

Protecting the planet for future generations is both a responsibility and a priority—for our own operations and in the interest of our customers. We are actively committed to reducing our environmental impact and contributing to global climate goals.

Our target: Reduce CO₂ emissions across Scope 1, 2 and 3 of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol by 50% by 2030 (baseline year: 2023), with continued reductions over the long term.
