Expert Talk
Rethinking Brand-Supplier Collaboration: Partnering for Product Development | Wednesday, November 12 | 12:15-1:00pm PST
Suppliers invest heavily in new developments, yet brands rarely commit to scaling them. The result? A cycle of wasted effort that stalls true progress. This conversation explores how brands and mills can co-create a more purposeful, efficient innovation process— one that supports sustainability, right-first-time development and speed to market while respecting time, budget and business realities. Panelists will share practical ways to streamline development by aligning early on clear targets, validating results collaboratively and building trust across the value chain. With insights from brands, suppliers and technical experts, the session highlights how deeper collaboration and better alignment lead to smarter outcomes with less guesswork.

Beyond the Wash: New Insights on Microfiber Biodegradation and Ecotoxicity | Thursday, November 13 | 10:30-11:14am PST
DIN SPEC 4872 gave the textile industry its first standardized way to measure fiber release, biodegradation and ecotoxicity during washing. The method is evolving with important new updates.

In this session, Dr. Jan Beringer will share the latest improvements: more realistic soil testing conditions, optimized soil-to-water and soil-to-textile ratios for biodegradation studies and an expanded set of ecotoxicity assessments aligned with OECD methods. He will also present new biodegradation data—comparing existing fibers with next-generation materials designed for enhanced degradation.

The aim is not just to measure impact, but to understand it. Attendees will gain a clearer picture of how fibers behave in different environments, and how these findings can inform material choices, product development, and sustainability strategies.
