Test Criteria

With Hohenstein's innovative method, the entire construction (material, pattern, quilting, body adaption) can be measured and evaluated by simulating use.

Using sweating, thermal manikins, we determine the sleeping comfort (heat and moisture management) of duvets and bedding systems.

  • Breathability rating (minimum 3 of 5 stars) is shown on the product label.
  • Effective thermal insulation is classified by season so customers can easily identify the desired thermal comfort.

FACTSHEET: SLEEP COMFORT

To determine material specific values of the layer construction (such as thermal and water vapor resistance, water vapor absorbency and buffering capacity of water vapor) for product development, additional tests can be conducted with the Hohenstein Skin Model according to DIN EN ISO 11092.
